On 20th of September (Friday and a day before international peace day) University of Waikato Groups: University of Waikato Students for Justice in the Middle East, Waikato Musicians Club, and the new amnesty international group on Waikato Campus organized a Peace Performance night which consisted of people singing, reading poetry, speaking, peace related quizzes and ended with a candlelight vigil for those who are oppressed worldwide.
The attendance and enthusiasm from those who made it was brilliant, heart warming and motivating. The singing was touching, the poetry inspiring, and the talks motivating!
Here are some pictures of the performers ! (All following photography credits go to Louise Hutt Photography !)
The night was ended with a candle light vigil where supporters sang songs, held out candles and gave a minute of silence for all those who are oppressed worldwide !
And of course some of the lovely organizers of this event, a fun, diverse, creative range of students and staff members put a huge effort into this event and we hope you enjoyed a peaceful night out 🙂
We will be updating more information in the following days so watch this space 🙂
